Last week, I hit the road to walk the floors at Canon’s Medical Design & Manufacturing (MD&M) conference in Philadelphia and SME’s RAPID in Atlanta in search of new technologies and expand my database of vendors. I had a lot of great conversations and saw a few familiar faces. MD&M is a big show, colocated with East Pack, Atlantic Design & Manufacturing, PlasTec East, Sustainability in Manufacturing, and others, so there is a variety of vendors.
In service-for-hire product development, I’m never quite sure what my next project will be, so I like to talk to as many people as possible, whether they’re providing rapid prototyping services, manufacturing custom battery packs, or packaging shampoo.
What I pick up from a long day at a trade show has a way of connecting when I least expect it. Unfortunately, my time was limited, so if I didn’t get to catch up with you while at the show, please get in touch.
