It’s hard to beat the value of meeting business associates face to face. I attended the Medical Device & Manufacturing (MD&M) East trade show in Philadelphia yesterday to walk the exhibit floor and shake some hands. I got to catch up with a few long-time vendors that I haven’t seen in a while and meet with several people that I only know from phone and email conversations. Plus, I was able to meet a slew of new vendors for everything from 3D printing to pharmaceutical packaging. In the course of a day, I talked to so many people about a wide variety of products and held samples of them, learning quite a bit more than I could from just searching websites.
The show is actually an amalgam of several complementary trade shows in the same venue, almost 50 rows of exhibitors, so it can be a bit overwhelming. It didn’t seem packed like I’ve seen at past trade shows, but I got a lot of value from it.
If you were at the show, what did you think?
