3D Printed Parts in Product Design

I recently presented to 3D Maryland’s 3D Innovators Group on ways I’ve used 3D printing in product design. I focused primarily on a short case study of the Mealtime Assistance Chair project to describe the iterative product design process and how I used 3D printed parts as an inexpensive way to evaluate the design before moving into the more involved and expensive processes of CNC machining and injection molding. I also touched on how I’ve created presentation prototypes from 3D printed parts for my clients to use for demonstration and evaluation. You can find the video at the link below – my presentation is from about 4:20 – 19:00 minutes.
